Seeing this reminds me of something I saw a few days ago on a bus ride.
There was this tree along the roadside, the tallest one for a good distance, right next to a lake. These two eagles have had a nest up in that tree of at least four years now, but the tree is sickly and not healthy, so very few branches actually have leaves on them, making the nest at the top obvious to see. The eagles nest disappeared about half a year ago, and recently someone cut the branches off the tree. Riding past on the bus, I saw two eagles siting together on a floating dock near the tree. Even though they've been living elsewhere for a time, I think they still remember the nest they had in that tree.
