I love the colours here and the sunspots are so visible, I never knew you could photograph sunspots till recently with just a handheld and love them. And this was done without filters or anything, just point and shoot.

apocalyptic sun,very nice shot!

thanks I love that kind of look :>

nice work

That's a really cool photo. How dark did the sun have to be to be able to get that kind of detail? I tried to get some photos of the sun through a hazy cloud cover and even at the absolute highest shutter speed my camera had it really didn't work out. Was this when it sits close to the horizon kind of red and you can look at it without hurting your eyes?

we had some heavy smoke from fires hundreds of miles away, so seemed to act as a filter enough to let it be visible.

I love this shot!!! I had taken one a few days ago, the smoke from all of the wildfires blocked most of the sun's light out. I noticed that you could see the sunspots in that shot as well. I didn't know we could do that either!

yeah, I posted the picture from earlier fires that wasn't as detailed and could have just been a bird *though it was over 5 minutes of photo's* but these are so clear, and love how they remind me of fractals :>

Yeah at first I wasn't sure if I was seeing it right myself. But it was in a timelapse I shot (which my cat ruined) but there was several shots over an hour, the clouds moved but the spots didn't! That was the giveaway!

yeah, I wasn't sure on the first day,. but the second day I checked the nasa sun feed, and the sunspot was there in the same place, not as many in mine, but was definetly one there :> This time it's no denying, and kinda neat :>

I totally agree! I am planning on try to find a way to get a better picture! I saved a few of the pictures, I might post them tonight.

:>

thanks :>
